Clutch the Crisis with Paint

In this new record of original semi-composed/semi-improvised material, How Deep How High focused on exploring the limits of their sound. The band dive further into their crossover tendencies, with jazz always as a meeting point, but this time it's the rest of their sonic influences that shine even more.

Thought of as a concept album, with various aspects of mental illness and hardship interpreted in every track, the compositions behind the playing itself are more deliberate and explore the subject of what can be considered improvised music. Contradicting that is the freedom in expressing the feelings associated inside, with respectful boundaries but total trust in the musicians' instincts and expressional capabilities.

All in all, this is a really emotional record and although the tracks' names hint at the meaning behind the music - hate, sadness, panic, impulsiveness, numbing, fear, anger, desperation being a few of the situations explored - it is encouraged that every listener makes their own story, a different image for every track or the record as a whole, while leaving nothing for granted.

This is an exhibition of human experience.
